The award-winning “WVU News” program is produced in a hands-on learning environment by students at WVU’s School of Journalism.

“WVU News” is a television newscast produced by journalism students at the P.I. Reed School of Journalism at West Virginia University.

Students, report, write, shoot and edit television news stories for the program. They also serve as on-air anchors, producers, directors and technical crew during newscast tapings at WVU’s professional television studio.

“WVU News” reporters cover events on the university campus, as well as the entire Morgantown community. The award-winning program provides students with hands-on experience and access to faculty with professional, real-world experience. Students who enroll in the “WVU News” course are well prepared for careers in television journalism after they graduate.

“WVU News” airs statewide on West Virginia Public Television and on Time Warner Cable in North Central West Virginia. The production is also available for download on WVU’s iTunesU and YouTube.

“WVU News” airs statewide on West Virginia PBS as part of “Campus Connection.” During the Spring 2013 semester, the newscast will air at the following times:

• Feb. 17 (12:30 pm) & Feb. 18 (1 pm)
• Mar. 3 (12:30 pm) & Mar. 4 (1 pm)
• Mar. 17 (12:30 pm) & Mar. 18 (1 pm)
• Mar. 24 (12:30 pm) & Mar. 25 (1 pm)
• Apr. 7 (12:30 pm) & Apr. 8 (1 pm)
• Apr. 21 (12:30 pm) & Apr. 22 (1 pm)

The award winning 15-minute newscast also airs Monday through Friday at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Time Warner Cable in North Central West Virginia.
